Portugal - The Douro Valley
Cost: $2,475 / Person
Dates: September 18-24, 2012
Portugal to many people is only a name. Of course, you have heard of the great Portuguese explorers such as Vasco de Gama and Prince Henry the Navigator. And you probably know they colonized many parts of the world including Brazil only to be relegated to relative obscurity for most of the 20th century. But trust me, you will find no better place to visit or such wonderful people to be your friends than in Portugal. The only danger is that once you have been here, you may never want to leave.
The bonus on this trip is that we will spend a day in Salamanca, Spain. This university town is vibrant, has incredible architecture, and the best in Spanish food and wine.
